Authentic Presence was developed by an international team of professionals, educators, and Buddhist practitioners. We are passionate about transforming the way we care for living and dying and supporting caregivers to reconnect with their sources of wellbeing, purpose, spirituality and wholeness.
Authentic Presence was the first training in the field of hospice and palliative care education in the US to combine online learning with face-to-face training in 2003. Over the past decade and a half, the training has attracted hundreds of participants from all over the world.
The training started as a certificate in Contemplative End-of-Life Care. For more than seven years, it was offered in partnership with Naropa University, Boulder, Colorado. Since 2012, it is an independent program. Authentic Presence, the current name, was chosen by the graduates.
